Sofia recently joined North Dallas ENT as a Physician Assistant. She completed her undergraduate education at The University of Texas in Austin, Texas, and received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Sofia completed her clinical training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in Dallas. She received training in Internal and Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, and Psychiatric Medicine. Additionally, she completed a Primary Care preceptorship concentration in Women’s Health with an elective in Dermatology.
Sofia’s special interests include Allergy/Immunology and Dermatology and she appreciates the fact that ENT is the perfect intersection of these different fields. As a Physician Assistant, Sofia enjoys the interprofessional collaboration and finds the coordination between otorhinolaryngology medical professionals, audiology, and speech-language pathology to be exciting and beneficial to patients.
Her favorite part of being a Physician Assistant in ENT is educating patients so that they can better understand their bodies and take an active role in maintaining their health and making choices for themselves. She loves that working in this specialty gives her the opportunity to impact a person’s quality of life tangibly, whether that be improving hearing, allergy symptoms, sleep quality, or ability to breathe.
Sofia lives in Dallas with her family. She was raised in the Far North Dallas/West Plano area and was lucky to come home to Dallas for her Physician Assistant training after spending 4 years in Austin for undergrad. She is excited to serve the community where she grew up!
When Sofia is not at work, she loves spending time with her family, trying new restaurants with friends, and taking road trips to new places whenever she is able to find the time. She also has two pet cats that keep her entertained on a daily basis
